Omar Biaz, Senior Sustainability Specialist

With over a decade of experience in the sustainability industry, Omar is the Sustainability Technical Officer at ecoBiz. He provides support and improvements on processes and technical aspects of the ecoBiz program. He also manages and maintains the chamber's Carbon Neutral certification and the company’s ESG policies. Omar holds vast experience managing sustainable certification programs and life cycle assessmentfor the building and construction industry, as an ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 auditor and program manager. He holds a master’s degree in Environmental Management Engineering, and Project ManagementOmar is passionate about contributing to solve sustainability related challenges and brings his technical acumen to help businesses achieve their sustainability objectives.

Eliza Chalmers, Sustainable Program Development Officer

With a passion for engaging with people and sustainability, Eliza is the Customer Relationship Coordinator and Program Analyst in the ecoBiz program. Eliza built upon her studies in sustainable enterprises and ecotourism by working in the tourism industry in sustainability certification as a data analyst. A highlight of her time in the tourism industry was a field study in India to discover and experience best practice community-based ecotourism in a developing countryConnecting with community and sharing her passion for sustainable practices has been a main driver in Eliza’s career and she is overjoyed to deliver the ecoBiz program to Queensland businesses.

Sonya Lawton, Ecobiz Engagement Officer

Sonya is a motivated, experienced Account Manager who has been part of the ecoBiz program for almost half a decade. Working as a Program Coordinator, responsible for supporting clients through their sustainability journey within the ecoBiz program, she is passionate about assisting the Queensland business community to thrive. With an extensive background in sales, accounts management, and customer engagement, Sonya brings her knowledge and expertise to the forefront, managing the client experience from start to finish. Sonya has enjoyed her years in this position as she values seeing small and medium businesses get the assistance and support they deserve in the fast-growing sustainability space. She is excited to see the program continue to evolve and is looking forward to meeting more people and assisting their businesses.

Connor Morwood, Assistant Data Analyst & Systems Design

New to the sustainability space, Connor, brings with him over 6 years of customer and account management experience. With a history of leading award-winning customer service teams, he provides our participants and partners with quality service. Connor has built and refined his customer service skills across many industries, from print and digital advertising to information technology and event management and had the opportunity to work on every level of the customer service journey. This thorough understanding of client management and passion to learn about the sustainability industry will ensure our Star Partners and participants get the most out of the ecoBiz program.
