As the Gladstone Accessibility and Inclusion Pilot nears completion, the Workforce Evolve team has been supporting local businesses to embed practical, sustainable, inclusive practices within their operations.
Delivered by Business Chamber Queensland in partnership with Queenslanders with Disability Network, the pilot provides participating businesses with one-on-one guidance from Inclusion Consultants with lived experience, alongside structured learning modules and coaching support. Together, these elements help businesses:
- Identify and remove accessibility barriers
- Implement practical, real-world solutions
- Strengthen inclusive leadership capability
- Build more productive and engaged teams
During the visit, the team connected with organisations including Gladstone Airport Corporation and Mabel & Mack’s, gaining firsthand insight into how inclusive practices are being integrated into everyday operations.
The visit also included the Gladstone Business Planning Masterclass, delivered with the support of the Gladstone Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Eleven local businesses worked through the core elements of a business plan, building practical templates to strengthen capability, clarify priorities, and position themselves for future growth. Studies show that businesses with a written business plan grow up to 30% faster than those without one, highlighting the value of proactive planning.
The strong engagement from the Gladstone business community has led to the adoption of more inclusive, capable, and resilient workplace practices. Workforce Evolve is proud to support these achievements as local businesses continue their journey toward stronger, more productive workplaces.
