Queensland businesses are well placed to capitalise on future economic opportunities and growth but face persistent operational pressures and long-term constraints. High interest rates, inflation, labour shortages, and increasing regulatory compliance costs weigh heavily on business confidence, expectations and sentiment.
Queensland business needs a budget that works.
Our 2025-26 State Budget submission positions the needs of business at the forefront of economic policy reform, providing actionable recommendations to improve Queensland’s business and economic environment and increase our competitiveness.
Our recommendations are structured around six priority areas, which reflect Queensland’s business and community needs, including business-friendly government, enhancing productivity, growing workforces, sustainability and energy, local and global business and thriving communities.
At the forefront of these priorities, we’re calling for a series of measures to reduce cost and red tape pressures, grow workforces, reform tax burden, and support businesses to thrive long-term.
We worked with our members, the wider Queensland business community and the local chamber of commerce network in forming our submission. If you contributed to our surveys or consultations the past few weeks, your insights are included.
