Omar Biaz | Senior Sustainability Specialist

With a decade of hands-on experience and his current role as the ecoBiz Carbon Coach, Omar brings technical skills and expertise in sustainable product certification and life cycle assessment.

Omar is a Senior Sustainability and Carbon Specialist at Business Chamber Queensland, with over a decade of experience in the sustainability industry. He provides technical expertise and process improvements for the ecoBiz program, developing methodologies and tools for energy, water, waste and carbon assessments. As the ecoBiz Carbon Coach, he helps businesses get started with their carbon emissions measurement journey.

Beyond his work with ecoBiz, Omar offers consulting services to businesses, assisting them in managing the complexities of carbon emissions measurement and management. He believes strongly in capacity building, empowering businesses to take ownership of their sustainability and carbon measurement processes. He also leads the Chamber’s Green Team, driving workplace sustainability initiatives and fostering a culture of environmental and social awareness.

Chez Briars | Climate Risk & Adaptation Specialist

A Master’s in Law & Environmental Science, and extensive experience working internationally across government, academia, NFPs and business consulting, Chez helps businesses simplify climate risk and build opportunity.

Chez specialises in helping businesses understand and manage climate risks while unlocking opportunities. With expertise in climate adaptation, disaster resilience, and broader sustainability, she supports businesses in business resilience in a changing market and changing climate, including risks and opportunities for assets, supply chains and as a result of climate transition activities.

Chez has extensive experience in building business capability through developing training material and facilitating workshops and training and that simplify climate risk and opportunities management. Her work includes risk assessments, strategic action planning, governance support, and risk disclosure. Chez has worked across government, academia, consulting, and not-for-profits, building strong partnerships and trusted relationships. She holds a B.A. in Geography (Queen Mary University of London, 2015) and a Master’s in Law and Environmental Science (University of Nottingham, 2016).

Ezra Pyers | Workplace Relations Manager

Bachelor in Behaviour Sciences in Psychology, and a Masters in Human Resources Management, Ezra specialises in award interpretation, enterprise bargaining and workplace investigations.

Ezra is an experienced Workplace Relations and Human Resources Advisor across multiple industries including hospitality, fuel retail, government and not-for-profit. Prior to joining Business Chamber Queensland, Ezra was the Employment Relations Manager with the Queensland Trucking Association, the peak employer association for the Queensland road transport sector. In this role, he also supported Queensland businesses in the bus and waste sectors, advocating for members at both state and national levels.

Ezra has significant experience representing employers before the Fair Work Commission and Queensland Human Rights Commission, successfully managing disputes start-to-finish. He also has experience managing claims before the QIRC, Fair Work Ombudsman and advocating member interests to QLD state parliament. Ezra has spoken on several panels and conducted training across the nation, sharing lived-in industry experiences and practical solutions.

Ezra‘s expertise includes award interpretation and advice, enterprise bargaining and workplace investigations. He demonstrates a commitment to collaborative
relationships that lever the breadth of his experience to reach successful and sustainable outcomes for members.

Sarah Jezzini | Workplace Relations Consultant

A Fair Work Commission specialist, with experience across both public and private sectors, and expertise analysing organisational systems to uncover risks and inefficiencies.

Sarah has worked in the public sector, statutory authority and private sector and has experience acting as a regulator and investigator. She has appeared in the Fair Work Commission and has prepared expert reports for the PIC (NSW), County and Supreme Courts (VIC), Supreme Court (ACT) and District and Supreme Courts (NSW). Sarah has experience identifying psychosocial hazards and implementing organisational wide risk mitigation strategies in environments with high occupational violence, sexual harassment, vicarious trauma and remote/ isolated work. Sarah has undertaken workplace investigations with varying degrees of complexity, including but not limited to, workplace bullying, workplace violence, corrupt conduct, serious disciplinary matters, discrimination and workers’ compensation issues.

Sarah has extensive expertise in systems analysis and systems thinking, with a particular emphasis on incorporating human factors to optimise workplace health and safety. Sarah’s expertise lies in identifying and analysing complex organisational systems to uncover underlying risks and inefficiencies, enabling the development of proactive safety strategies in human factors, including psychosocial, physical and environmental.

Chloe Boike | Workplace Relations Advisor

With a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Business Management (majoring in Human Resources), Chloe specialises in developing company policies and procedures, and Enterprise Bargaining Agreements.

Chloe joined Business Chamber Queensland in April 2023. Chloe consistently handles incoming calls from employers, providing guidance on managing HR-related concerns. Before joining the Workplace Relations team, Chloe worked at the Ipswich City Council as a Workplace Relations Officer. Chloe has attained a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Business Management (majoring in Human Resources) at the University of Queensland. Thanks to her studies, Chloe is quite practised in finding relevant research and understanding case law. Chloe has a good deal of experience in writing and reviewing company policies and procedures as well as negotiating and implementing Enterprise Bargaining Agreements. She is particularly passionate about delivering training to organisations on topics such as sexual harassment, bullying, and victimisation, while also emphasising the integration of positive duties within the workplace.

Chloe is also a member of the Industrial Relations Society of Queensland.

Diana Gueorguieva | Manager International Trade & Strategic Partnerships

A Master of Marketing Management (Honours), a Bachelor of International Business majoring in International Marketing, a Diploma of Export Management and 20 years’ experience in the field of international trade.

With more than 2 decades of experience in international trade and business development, Diana has assisted many Queensland businesses achieve offshore success by providing trade advice, assisting with overseas market research, strategy development, export marketing planning and implementation as well as finding potential business partners overseas.

In Diana’s current role at Business Chamber Queensland, she oversees the Business Chamber Queensland International Trade team who provides export documentation services and international trade advice to over 2000 Queensland exporters and international logistics companies. Additionally, Diana manages the Regional Certifying Body team, assisting and providing businesses with the assessment required to sponsor skilled foreign workers under the Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (provisional) visa – subclass 494 across Cairns, Mackay, Townsville, Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and Rockhampton regions.
Diana’s key interest is the Free Trade Agreements (FTA’s) Australia has in place with other countries and is passionate about assisting businesses to benefit from these.

Ivey Cowie | International Trade Consultant

Almost a decade of experience helping to promote Queensland companies on the global stage, and another decade of experience supporting the capability of small and medium businesses across the state.

Ivey brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in international trade.  Having started her career with international logistics companies in Hong Kong and Shanghai before being invited to join a Queensland-based company looking to expand into Asia.  This opportunity marked the start of her professional journey in Australia, where Ivey was based in both Perth and Brisbane.  After taking a career break to raise a family, in 2024 Ivey returned to the workforce as a Senior Trade Investment Officer in the International Operations team at Trade & Investment Queensland.
