On Friday 28 August in Cairns, local business owners, government representatives and industry leaders came together to discuss how the region can turn upcoming opportunities, including the 2032 Olympic Games, into lasting economic impact.

The Ahead of the Game half-day conference featured practical workshops and an expert panel with insights from Cairns Mayor Amy Eden, General Manager of HEH Civil Luke Bird, CEO of Tourism Tropical North Queensland Mark Olsen, and Brisbane 2032 Director of Community Affairs, Dominique Lamb.

Supported by Australian Made, Constant Contact and The Cairns Post, the event urged Cairns businesses to start preparing now for a significant period of economic growth in the region, driven by tourism, events, critical minerals projects and major events.
