Developed with direct insight from the Queensland business community, and used by government, industry and businesses statewide, the reports play a critical role in shaping the future of work in Queensland.

The 2024 Digital Future of Work Report

The 2024 Digital Future of Work Report is leading the debate on the evolving nature of work and supporting businesses to prepare for both the risks and opportunities presented by technological change in the workplace.

The report is the second in the Future of Work series, exploring the key digital priorities of Queensland businesses including artificial intelligence and workplace automation, cyber security, internet connectivity, workplace arrangements, and skills and credentials.

Key insights:

  • 1 in 3 Queensland businesses (31%) indicated they were struggling to keep up with technological changes, including the advancement of AI. 
  • 57% of Queensland businesses reported a strong or critical need for new skills and training to manage the AI transition.
  • Queensland businesses are training staff internally to keep pace with labour needs, with 31% reporting a strong need to recognise micro-credentials or informal training.
  • Cyber security is a critical concern with 15% of businesses having experienced a cyber security attack in the past 12 months, of which 52% were small businesses.
