Australian Made Week at Crimsafe | 19 May 2026

On Tuesday 19 May 2026, we marked Australian Made Week at one of Queensland’s great manufacturing success stories – Crimsafe. Despite the wet weather, more than 100 people joined us to celebrate two milestones – 40 years of the Australian Made logo and 30 years of Crimsafe.

The highlight of the day was the opportunity to go behind the scenes and see local manufacturing capability up close. From R&D through to production, it offered a practical look at what it takes to build and sustain a successful Australian-made business – including the chance to test just how tough Crimsafe’s security doors really are.

Alongside this, Kate Carnell AO, Chair of Australian Made, Heidi Cooper, Business Chamber Queensland CEO and Australian Made board member, and Jim Sturgess, Crimsafe CEO and fellow board member, shared their perspectives on what lies ahead for the sector.

With demand for Australian-made products continuing to grow and the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games on the horizon, the conversation focused on how manufacturers can position themselves for what’s next.

Thank you to Jim and the Crimsafe team for hosting, Kate Carnell for sharing her insights as part of the panel, and MC Shelley Craft for expertly guiding the day.
