On 16 July 2026, Business Chamber Queensland brought Ahead of the Game to Townsville to help local businesses build capability, sharpen their competitive edge and position themselves for growth.

With major infrastructure projects underway alongside planning for events such as Brisbane 2032 and delivery of the Games On! program, North Queensland is entering a period of significant transformation.

At the event, it was clear that the next decade provides an opportunity to reshape how we work, collaborate and position ourselves on the global stage.

Hearing from The Honourable Dale Last MP MP, Cr Nick Dametto, VisIR’s Joseph W. O’Brien (GAICD) and Brisbane 2032’s Dominique Lamb, one message came through strongly: we can’t do it alone.

Moving forward, the organisations that stand out won’t just be the most innovative, they will be the best connected.

Businesses poised to thrive in the next decade are already closing skills gaps, investing in capability, and building the systems they’ll need to deliver at scale. Most importantly, they are building their networks now.
