Following the 2026-27 Federal Budget announcement last week, we brought together Queensland business leaders for a briefing with Federal Treasurer the Honourable Dr Jim Chalmers MP.

Set against a backdrop of economic transition and ongoing global uncertainty, the briefing provided timely insight into the Budget’s implications for business, investment, productivity and long-term growth.

The afternoon also featured expert analysis from David Alexander, Chief of Policy and Advocacy at the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who shared his extensive policy and economic expertise, and Mark Molesworth, Partner, Corporate and International Tax at BDO, who provided valuable perspective on the Budget’s tax implications for business.
