The Business Chamber Queensland is empowering Queensland Chambers to support the mental health and wellbeing of their business community.

By being involved in this program, you and your chamber are taking positive steps to look after, connect and support your business community. Our past experiences and learning found that chambers of commerce can make meaningful and significant changes in their community. ​

Recognising the importance of mental health to Queensland Businesses, Queensland Government is committed to deliver the Small Business Support and Wellness Package. 

Before we start, remember, mental health and wellness is very much similar to physical wellbeing: 

  • It is important to look after yourself, before looking after and supporting others​.
  • If you are in a crisis or need urgent help, call emergency services (000), Lifeline (13 11 14) or visit your nearest hospital emergency department.
  • ​Mental wellbeing is an ongoing journey, for both individuals and businesses. Progress may take time and continuous efforts, the results and differences may only show in the long run. ​​

The Small Business Support and Wellness Package comprises the following elements: ​

 

Six specialist Small Business Wellness Coaches across Queensland: These coaches will join an existing statewide network of 43 rural, tourism and small business financial counsellors to provide a complete package of support for small businesses.

 

Small Business Support Service Fund: Through the Small Business Support Services Fund the locally based coach or counsellor in the network will be able to connect a small business owner with a service provider up to the value of $5000 where further specialist support is assessed as needed.

The Business Wellness Program is developed by Business Chamber Queensland to provide information and resources for chambers of commerce across Queensland to deliver mental health support for businesses in their local area.

Queensland Government Chamber Wellness Fund

In additional to this program, the Queensland Government, through the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training, will provide funding support for chambers to activate and deliver mental health and wellness initiatives.
